What Is an EICR?

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) checks the safety and condition of your electrical installation.
During an EICR, we inspect and test circuits, wiring, sockets, lighting, and the consumer unit to make sure everything is safe to use and meets current safety regulations.
EICRs help identify damage, wear and tear, poor workmanship, or faults that could become dangerous if left unresolved.
At TCJ Electrical, we carry out professional EICR testing across Merthyr Tydfil and South Wales, providing clear reports and honest advice if any remedial work is required.
What Happens After an EICR?
You will receive a report confirming whether your electrical installation is:
✔ Satisfactory — Safe for continued use
⚠ Unsatisfactory — Issues found that need fixing
If remedial work is required, we provide a clear quote before any work is carried out.
Typical EICR inspections take between 2–4 hours depending on property size and number of circuits.
